As the weather continues to get colder, please remember to provide appropriate clothing for your children including hats, mitts, warm coats, rain boots (for the water and mud) and many changes of clothes. We do go outside, rain or shine, so we need to ensure the children are appropriately dressed to stay warm and dry while playing and exploring the great outdoors!
Halloween is less than a week away, all the children are excited for this special day! Each classroom has been busy preparing crafts, singing spooky songs and listening to Halloween stories. The teachers have provided the children with lots of sensory and natural materials to enhance the children’s experience with the fall season! We love to celebrate this special time of year!
I hope wish you all a safe and awesome Halloween!
Behaviour Guidance Policy
We recently revised and updated our Behaviour Guidance Policy and it has been approved for use by our Early Childhood Consultant, Crystal Martin, from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. The new policy has been included with this month newsletter. Please take a moment to review, sign and return for your child’s file.
We were able to take part in the Annual Pumpkin parade and the regatta this year thanks to Sarah and Jason Casey from XL Trucking. They generously sponsored the centre by providing us with the giant pumpkin and the transportation! Michael did a great job rowing our Pumpkin in the regatta and placed 23rd out of the 37 entered. A big thank you to all the staff and parents who contributed to make this year’s event a success!
Tickets for the Scratch ticket basket are due back on the Oct. 27th. We will be drawing the winning ticket at the 2 Cute 2 Toss sale this Saturday at the Legion. Thanks to everyone in supporting this fundraiser! The fantastic prize for the winner with $200 worth of lottery tickets!!
Starting in November we will be hosting a Christmas Fish Fundraiser. This time there will be extra items available including Scallops and Shrimp. Information of the available products and an order form have been included with the newsletter.
Each class will be celebrating this spooky day and are planning special activities. The children enjoy dressing up with their friends, so if you can please provide your child with a costume (labeled)! For those who might be interested in providing treats, please check with your child’s teacher about appropriate, healthy choices!
The Preschool and Kinderschool class will be trick or treating with the residents at Haliburton Place in the Hants Community Hospital from 10:15 until noon. Transportation to and from the hospital will be provided by taxi. If you have any concerns please let me know. Permission slips have been sent home with your Preschooler and need to be signed and returned so your child can participate in this trip.
