Monthly Newsletter – November, 2016
As the weather continues to get wet and cold, please remember to provide appropriate clothing including hats, mitts, warm coats, rain boots (for the water and mud) and many changes of clothes. We do go outside, rain or shine, so we need to ensure the children are appropriately dressed to stay warm and dry while playing and exploring the great outdoors!
Halloween is less than a week away, all the children are excited for this special day! Each classroom has been busy preparing crafts, singing spooky songs and listening to Halloween stories. The teachers have provided the children with lots of sensory and natural materials to enhance the children’s experience with the fall season! We love to celebrate fall and this special time of year!
I hope wish you all a safe and awesome Halloween!
To enhance our security, we have installed a locked, keyless entrance to our front door. This means that the main door will be locked at all times, preventing unauthorized entrance into our facility. Each family will be provided with a fob (electronic key) which allows entry into our facility from 6:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday, and visitors will have to ring through to the office before gaining access. Each fob will have a $20.00 deposit, which will be refunded when you no longer require our service and return the fob. If you wish to have more than one, please see us in the office and we will gladly set you up with additional fobs. We will bill each family on November’s invoice. Stop by the office and collect your fob starting Monday, as we are hoping to have this new system operational by the first of the week.
We have also installed two video cameras that monitor the front and back doors. This adds a little extra security as we are now able to view both entryways.
I am sure you have seen the notices posted regarding our submission to the Aviva fund. Our goal is to create a natural, safe playground area for your children to explore and play. If we can obtain enough votes we have a chance to win $50,000 towards this project! This year the voting is easy, each individual is allowed 18 votes and you can use them all at once, so please login and VOTE! It only takes a minute. The deadline for submitting is Friday, October 28th! Please share this information with your family, coworkers and friends!
Hometown Portraits will be coming to do individual and group photos on Thursday November 27th. For those children not registered to attend this day, let the teachers know if you would like to have your child included. We will let you know what time to come so we can coordinate class pictures as well as individual ones.
Each class will be celebrating this spooky day so please provide your child with a costume (labeled)!
The Preschool children will be trick or treating with the residents at Haliburton Place in the Hants Community Hospital from 10:30 until noon. Transportation to and from the hospital will be provided by D & G Miller Bus service. A permission slip will be sent home with the children attending.
I would like to give a special thanks to Jason Grant for rowing our Pumpkin in the regatta! Great job!! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s event! A special thanks as well to Craig Comeau for providing us with a tractor and wagon so we could take part in the parade!
