Director’s Message Well another year has passed, and here it is, 2018! A few highlights from the past year included a little work in our yard, a visit from Little Ray’s Reptile zoo and Mad Science, purchased a van from the Fire Department for local trips (although it is yet to be up and running)
Director's Report It’s hard to believe that winter and Christmas are just around the corner. We have some exciting activities planned this month beginning with an invite by Mermaid Theatre for all the children to see their new production of Rainbow Fish, a visit from Santa, and lots of winter and Christmas activities. As the weather continues to get colder, please remember to provide appropriate clothing for your children including hats, mitts, warm coats, rain boots (for the water and mud) and many changes of clothes. We do go outside, rain or shine, so we need to ensure the children are appropriately dressed to stay warm and dry while playing and exploring the great outdoors!
I would like this opportunity to welcome all the new families to our Centre. Our dedicated teachers provide a great place for your children to grow, make friends and learn new skills every day! On behalf of the staff, we are all looking forward to another great year! With the fall season approaching, each class will be getting back to their regular programs starting September 5th. There will be a few staff changes within the classrooms in the next few weeks.
Just a reminder that the Annual General Meeting is scheduled to be held at the Day Care on Thursday, May 25th @ 6:30 pm. The current board is seeking new members, so if you are interested or may know of an individual who could be an asset to the centre, please let me know. We need at least 10 members to attend the AGM, so the AGM can proceed. Everyone is welcome!
Finally, warmer weather! As the warm sun is finally here, please ensure that your child has a sunhat and appropriate clothing for the changing weather. The Annual General Meeting of the Windsor Day Care Society is scheduled to be held at the Day Care on Thursday, May 25th @ 6:30 pm. The current board is looking for a few new members, so if you are interested or may know of an individual who would be an asset to the centre then please let me know.
The children and staff celebrated the day care’s birthday with a presentation by Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo. The children were in awe with the various creatures, very attentive and most of them were eager to interact with the animals! This is something we will definitely look at doing again, a great educational experience for the children and the staff as well!
Wow, how the time flies. Snow and Christmas are just around the corner and we have a lot happening within the daycare in the coming weeks. The children and staff will be busy with lots of Christmas and winter activities, and the classrooms will be transformed into Winter Wonderlands!
Building Security - To enhance our security, we have installed a locked, keyless entrance to our front door. This means that the main door will be locked at all times, preventing unauthorized entrance into our facility. Each family will be provided with a fob (electronic key) which allows entry into our facility from 6:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Friday, and visitors will have to ring through to the office before gaining access.
The fall season is here and most of our classes are full. The children and staff are settling in nicely, adjusting to their new friends, routines and programs. October is going to be a busy month with lots of special events planned, so please take note of all the upcoming plans for the month!
